RESEARCHER BIO
Maren is a post-doctoral student at the Faculty of Health Sciences at Oslo Metropolitan University. She graduated as a physiotherapist in 2006 at the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences, completed her Master's degree in Sports Physiotherapy from the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences in 2011, and defended her PhD from the University of Oslo in 2021.
The topic for her PhD work was the health implications of sport participation related to musculoskeletal and mental health among adolescents. She has previously worked as a physiotherapist in primary and secondary care and has experience in conducting musculoskeletal pain research from work at the Research and Communication Unit for Musculoskeletal Health (FORMI), Oslo University Hospital.
The focus of Maren’s post-doc work is to develop and pilot test interventions to reduce persistent pain and disability among adolescents.

HEYoung project
Mental and musculoskeletal health in the transition from adolescence to adulthood
In this project, we aim at following a large cohort of young adults (16 - 26 years of age) for 10 years to assess potential risk factors, risk profiles and risk trajectories for mental and musculoskeletal disorders. Read more about the project here.
