WP3 – the MI-NAV trial: a 3-arm randomized controlled trial will be conducted within the NAV system in order to respond to the following specific research questions:
In the third part of the project (WP3), we will conduct a randomized controlled trial (RCT). People on sick leave for 7-8 weeks due to a musculoskeletal disorder will be randomly divided into 3 groups. The first group will have contact with NAV through usual NAV-practice, group two will be followed up with motivational interviews from a NAV counselor. Group three will be divided into three groups who will receive advice from a physiotherapist. The advice will be tailored according to their risk profile for longterm sickness absence.
The aim of this part of the project is to evaluate which approach is most effective in helping people on sick leave due to musculoskeletal disorders back to work. We will also measure the economic benefits and evaluate the long-term effect of the different interventions.
