Together with our Swedish collaborators in the SUN (Sustainable University Life) project we have recently published a paper with the title “Depression, Anxiety and Stress Symptoms among Swedish University Students Before and During the First Months of the COVID-19 Pandemic: A Cohort Study” in the BMC Public Health, available at: https://www.researchsquare.com/article/rs-70620/v1
In this study we aimed to determine the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on mental health among Swedish university students over the first few months of the pandemic, and to determine if change in depression, anxiety and stress symptoms were associated with loneliness, poor sleep quality and pre-existing mental health problems. Contrary to widely held concerns, we found no evidence of worsened mental health status among Swedish university students during the first months of the COVID-19 pandemic.
