Risk factor for non-specific neck pain in young adults: a systematic review
As part of the HEYoung study, we published a systematic review of risk factors for neck pain in young adults. The review included six prospective cohort and registry studies, investigating 56 potential risk factors, of which six risk factors were investigated in more than one study. No consistent risk factors for neck pain were found, and the quality of the included studies was in general low or moderate. Young adulthood is potentially important for musculoskeletal neck pain throughout life, but there is a paucity of high-quality studies.
