Master’s Project: Exercise Habits and Pain Intensity in Women with Vulvodynia
Despite the high prevalence and significant negative impact on women’s health and quality of life, vulvodynia is a condition with many unresolved questions. There are no clear guidelines on exercise and physical activity for this group, and it is unclear what the exercise habits of women with vulvodynia are. It is also unclear how exercise affects their pain, and conversely, how the pain affects their activity levels.

The purpose of the project is to map exercise habits and pain intensity in women with vulvodynia, and to identify possible correlations between the two variables and psychological distress. The sample consists of women who sought assessment and treatment for chronic vulvar pain from physiotherapy students at OsloMet. The data is based on a standardized questionnaire package (FysioPol) that the women completed in connection with treatment at the student clinic.
