As part of the research project Back Complaints in the Elderly (BACE-N), we published a study where the patient-reported outcome measure, the Back Beliefs Questionnaire, was translated and assessed.
The questionnaire measures attitudes and beliefs about the consequences of back pain. The study describes the translation process and evaluates the psychometrical properties of the questionnaire. A total of 116 patients where included in the assessment, and the Norwegian version of the Back Beliefs Questionnaire demonstrated acceptable test-retest reliability, internal consistency and construct validity when used on elderly patients in primary care with a new episode of back pain.
